I would willingly shell out 20 euro for the software hands down. Make the software compatible with other microphones as it does with other audio sources.
Rather than offering a solution most of us already have heard about perhaps Elgato can answer the call that apparently a lot of people have. I don't mind it being behind a pay gate int he slightest but it's not worth for me personally to buy a brand new mic when I already have one similar to what OP said. For first use, its highly recommended to follow user manual step by step, especially step ZERO of the documentation. I would be more then willing to simply purchase the software and have it even if its buggy works with my already pre-existent microphone. Im reluctant to install it without first getting the blessing. For that reason, Im thinking that Voicemeeter Potato might do the trick. Important to note that I want the audio of my sax to be sweetened with a little reverb. I am currently content with my microphone has had it for the last 6-7 years but I already own other Elgato equipment such as the HD60. Heres the basic idea: Through my headphones, I want to hear BiaB, mixed with the mic input of me playing the alto sax. It's easy to use and for someone like me that has barely any time to stream and even less time to prep it shouldn't be mandatory that I learn yet another software for the sake of there not being a more viable option. Yes, Virtual audio cables already exist but none of them really stand in comparison to what we've seen so far with regards to the software. A lot of the comments are just reiterating what reviewers already said. Not sure why I explain any of this anyway, I'm sure most people can figure it out themselves.

Perhaps that is not interesting to you and others, that's fine I don't say it should be. what reason should elgato make it standalone? it's part of their ecosystem, it adds value to their products. The question is not could it be standalone, for that it almost certainly could be. The export footprint feature is designed for those who intend to reinstall their system in the future and can be used to transfer license between systems without using a license reactivation. have you read through the manual and worked your way through the various control panels for the virtual outs?
